Moringa Yetu

Introducing the project & recognising International Moringa Day

Moringa Yetu post: three photos — Checking a moringa seedling, Planting a seedling, Planting in Nakivale soil — with the story of the nursery and the Chuffed link.

On 14 September, communities and partners marked International Moringa Day — a moment to reflect on what can grow from one plant when knowledge, care and local leadership come together.

In Nakivale Refugee Settlement, Uganda, Moringa Yetu is beginning as a locally led journey coordinated by Youth Refugees United for Development (YRUD), a refugee-led, non-profit organisation founded and directed by Justin Buma.

The team is preparing a practical moringa nursery designed to support hands-on learning, shared responsibility and future enterprise exploration.
