Donation and refund policy
How gifts to Youth Refugees United for Development (YRUD) are received and used. Last updated 1 October 2026.
Who receives your gift
YRUD is a refugee-led community-based organisation in Nakivale Refugee Settlement, registered with Isingiro District Local Government, number 0624. Gifts go to YRUD's own organisation bank account in Uganda, never to a person's private account.
How you can give
- Card, MTN Mobile Money and Airtel Money, processed securely by Pesapal. YRUD never sees or stores your card details.
- Bank transfer to YRUD's account — request the details on the ways to give page.
- The moringa appeal, hosted by our partner on Chuffed under Chuffed's own terms.
Gifts are taken in US dollars or Ugandan shillings.
How gifts are used
A gift for a named project or group goes to that project or group (for example, kit for Nakivale Young Stars FC goes to the club). A general gift goes where YRUD's leadership in Nakivale decides the need is greatest. Money received and spent on projects is reported on the project's tracker, marked as YRUD-documented.
Receipts
Card and mobile-money gifts get an emailed receipt when the payment is confirmed. For bank transfers, write to us and we will confirm receipt. YRUD is registered in Uganda; we cannot promise tax deductions in other countries.
Refunds and mistakes
- If you gave the wrong amount, were charged twice, or did not mean to give, write to yrud.ug@gmail.com within 30 days and we will refund it.
- Refunds go back the same way the gift came, and payment providers' own fees may not be returnable.
- Once a gift has been spent on the project it was given for, we may not be able to return it, but we will always explain what it was used for.
- Gifts through Chuffed follow Chuffed's refund rules.
