Volunteer

Help people build their own tools

We train volunteers to build with AI. Volunteers in Nakivale sit with a teacher, farmer or health worker and build the first version of that person's tool together. Our remote team then finishes it and answers their feedback.

What volunteering looks like

  • Once or twice a month, not every day.
  • Training first. A short guide and video on building tools with AI. No coding background needed.
  • In Nakivale: visit one person, ask the role survey questions, record the talk with their permission, and build a first version with them.
  • From anywhere: finish features, fix what the person says is wrong, translate guides.
  • The person decides. You build what they ask for, not what you think they need. Nothing for us without us.

Read how we build tools first. Visits are only made by volunteers YRUD has invited and trained.
